Symptoms
When entering immersive mode, you're stuck in the Stationary boundary, even though you have a Roomscale boundary setup preventing you from walking around.
Cause
A recent Meta OS update has changed the boundary configuration behaviour. It now treats the Horizon OS boundary setting and the in-app boundary setting separately. This means that if you have your OS boundary setting set to Roomscale when you launch an app the boundary setting could change back to Stationary.
If you ever launch an app when you don't have a Roomscale boundary setup and choose Stationary instead, it will make the app launch with the Stationary boundary for all future launches of the app until you manually change it back to Roomscale
Solution
To configure the boundary setting for the app do as follows:
- Launch JoinXR
- Switch to immersive mode
- Press the Meta button
- Bring up the Quick Settings (click the clock/wifi/battery button)
- Click on the boundary setting
- Click "Switch to Roomscale"
- Press the Meta button to return to JoinXR
